Outdoor spaces are fully integrated into the scope of residential design and serve hospitality functions, with expectations regarding aesthetic appeal and material consistency that are on a par with those of interior spaces. Furthermore, terraces, patios, cladding for external walls and swimming pools, as well as tables and countertops for outdoor kitchens, require surfaces capable of retaining their characteristics when permanently exposed to the elements.
Porcelain stoneware meets these requirements thanks to the material’s intrinsic physical properties, which are achieved through the raw materials used and the specific production process.
Large-sized surfaces for architectural solutions in outdoor spaces
In particular, it is the 160×320 cm format that offers the most significant added value in terms of design. Surfaces of this continuous size significantly reduce the number of joints during installation: the graphic design can thus unfold uninterrupted across large areas.

An example of this application is the villa in Newport Beach, in California, where the designers selected Metal Dark – a large slab with a metallic effect and grey undertones – for covering certain external walls and for the worktop of the outdoor kitchen, creating a visual harmony with certain interior features (fireplace coverings) while ensuring maximum durability and functionality even in the close proximity of the Pacific Ocean.
Similarly, in the design of the Elda dental clinic in Alicante, continuity between the exteriors and the interior design is ensured by the choice of Calacatta Oro. The use of the same marble-effect solution on both the exterior and interior surfaces guarantees visual consistency throughout the entire space, from the entrance to the reception areas, creating an uninterrupted experience of aesthetic refinement.
